Rumors from leftist blogs, namely Intelligent Discontent and 4 and 20 blackbirds began to fly Sunday night and into the early hours of Monday morning that Ken Miller Would be choosing Billie Orr as his Lt. Governor. Turns out liberal blogs once again have their facts wrong a common theme, Miller campaign announced that Public Service Commissioner Bill Gallagher was his choice for Lieutenant governor. A small saw mill hand and Montana farmer, a choice that seems to reinforce the campaigns agriculture talking points Gallagher is an interesting choice for Miller.
Bill Gallagher made headlines last year after raising questions of a potential ethics violation against Travis Kavulla a republican commissioner out of Great Falls, an fight that would eventually get Gallagher ousted from his chairman position.
Millers campaign has been emphasizing grassroots campaign tactics, hoping to organize support from communities in a more personal way saying:
“We’re seeing the payoff from that, the amount of grassroots support that we’ve been able to build up,” Miller said. “They’re the boots on the ground, so to speak, to make sure that we get the brochures out and talk to the neighbors and raise the money and all the things for a successful campaign.”
Coming off a weak fundraising quarter it will be interesting to see how the campaign moves forward.
