Austin is a fourth-generation Montanan from Silverbow County, and founder of Treasure State Politics. As a twenty-one-year-old student attending the University of Montana studying economics and political science, Austin has already participated in both partisan and non-partisan political organizations. Additionally, he was awarded the prestigious Stanley Kimmitt Public Service Scholarship. Austin has devoted substantial amounts of time in assisting a wide array of campaigns on the local, state, and national level. He stays involved as much as possible in all areas of the political process. Austin makes a constant effort to be educated and informed in issues that effect Montana and hopes that TSP will help others to do the same.

Max the Bully

Forbes Magazine published an article titled “Max Baucus and the Democrats Try to Intimidate McKinsey” highlighting the typical Congressional branch intimidation, sending a letter. It is not the typical acts of Congress that is really worth talking about.

However, this part of the article is:

It’s the classic Max Baucus playbook—harass those who he disagrees with, in an attempt to intimidate them into more favorable coverage. Baucus did the same thing to insurer Humana in 2009, launching an investigationinto the company because it had the temerity to inform its Medicare Advantage members that significant cuts were coming to the program.

Max the Bully is certainly something to think about. Would you be bullied by this?

Classic method of the Montana Democratic Party runs deep; dirty politics, intimidation, and keeping it out of the press. It will be interesting to watch the two bullies on the playground fight the battle in 2014.
