Amid Recent Polling- Rehberg Claims National Endorsement

A poll released by Lee Newspapers of Montana shows Congressman Denny Rehberg neck-in-neck with Senator Tester (45%-46% respectively) with a margin of error of 4 percent.

With polling showing this race a virtual toss-up, a national conservative pundit has thrown his name in the hat for Dennis Rehberg. Hugh Hewitt endorsed Rehberg yesterday on his national blog the HughHewitt.com Blog. Hewitt notes the significance of a GOP candidate winning the Montana Senate race on the effort to repeal health-care legislation.

Hewitt’s comments follow:

“It is a dead-heat in Montana where Congressman Denny Rehberg is challenging the mountain west’s biggest lefty and Obama-supporter, Senator John Tester.

Winning Montana is crucial to the repeal of Obamacare.  To accomplish that the GOP will need at least 50 senators and the Vice President to pass a reconciliation bill which cannot be filibustered, thus killing Obamacare via the same legislative path by which it was born.”
